He was educated in the public school system of Jackson county graduating from Union Grove High School, Greenwood, Florida. He began his walk with Christ at an early age and chose New Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church as his place of Praise and Worship. He served as a Deacon and was thankful for the opportunity to do so until the Lord called him home. He was employed as a supervisor for AAA Transportation in Dothan, Alabama, where he served with dignity and gained the respect of all who knew him. Life afforded him the blessing of God as he married Delois Hartsfield the girl of his dreams and she united for life with the man who made her life complete. This was truly a union ordained by God as evidence by their abiding Love & Compassion, one for the other. Only 2 weeks ago the freshness of their romance was expressed stating “there could never be another Poah”. Their conversation began and ended with a special endearing term “Honey”. Together they provided a Loving, Caring and Nurturing home for their three children: temika, Neporah III, and Amy. This Godly man’s Love knew no boundaries as he gave fatherly Love and Direction to his two nieces, Sandra Harris and Xuripha Ancrum raising them as his own children. He was a doting grandparent to their seven grandchildren; Dionna, Destiny, Ameilya, Neporah IV, “popo” Tristian, Trevor and Ashton. Two godchildren; Marcus and Mason McGriff.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Neporah Bowers Sr. and Inez Barnes White. Two sisters: Verdanell White Cruel and Shirley Jean Bowers Rivers. Three brothers: James White, Otha B. Bowers and Rufus Bowers. His legacy of love and devotion leaves precious memories with his loving “Honey” Delois Hartsfield Bowers. Three children: Temika (Keith-Deceased) Jones of Bascom, Florida, Amy (Willie) Tillman of Cottonwood, Alabama and Neporah Bowers III of Bascom, Florida. One brother: J C White of Bascom, Florida. Two sisters-in-laws: Earnestine Bowers of Greenwood, Florida and Alberta Mount of Malone, Florida. Four brother-in-laws: Cliff (Mary) Goines of Malone, Florida, Prophet Fred (Sandra) Trawick of Ashford, Alabama, Danny (Adrea) Jones of Colorado, and Bruce Hartsfield. Two uncles: Grady Barnes and Clauzell Barnes of Bascom, Florida. Because you were always there to let him know how very much you cared, Sister Mary Girtman. And finally to all whose names are not listed because you are so many, thank you isn’t good enough just the only words I know. It is your light of friendship that has given our world its glow.
